Governance for Advantage seminars Beyond the Figures and Beyond the Data

'Governance for Advantage' is a programme of seminars aimed at challenging current governance thinking, featuring celebrated experts in their field.

So far, we have held two of these seminars; beyond the figures and beyond the data. Both have been a great success and featured keynote speakers, a panel debate and excellent networking opportunities. The topics covered during the beyond the figures seminar ranged from how behaviour affects governance, corporate psychopaths in the workplace and working with negativity, to the dangers of superficial governance.

At the beyond the data seminar, issues such as tensions caused by the dual role of the Information Commission and how organisations can develop an appropriate governance regime that will enable the protection and utilisation of data and information were examined.

Beyond the politics - In the NHS, and other public sector bodies, we have witnessed the growth of a governance model which is regulated from the centre but fragmented in its delivery through a "postcode lottery". This seminar will address governance that moves beyond political interference.

Beyond the board - Governance is all too often seen as a Boardroom activity, and yet its efficacy is driven from within the depth of the culture and ethics of any organisation. This seminar will address the question "Where does effective governance fit within the structure?"
